Swargadwari is located in the Pyuthan district in the western region of Nepal at 6960 ft. It is an important pilgrimage site for the Hindus. Swargadwari is also famous for the Vedic Yagyan set up by Swami Shree Hansananda Giri (Sworgadwari Mahaprabhu). He was born in Rumti of Rolpa district at 1916 B.S. He established this heavenly place in1952 and he named this place as “Swargadwari”. Legend has it that the king of all deities; Indra had also performed a Yagyan in Satya Yuga at this place. It is a must see destination for Hindu pilgrims. There is the Swargadwari temple. Many believe that the Swargadwari Guru Maharaj was an incarnation of God.

Swargadwari is a name which is uttered with great reverence.”Swargadwari” ‘is a word which means gateway to heaven’. It is a place where, in ancient time, sixteen sages performed a religious sacrifice for the attainment of heaven. Swargadwari is a place where the Pandaves along with Draupadi attempted for salvation. Swargadwari Mahaprabhu is the name of a devotee who made Swargadwari a place of pilgrimage in modern age. From Pyuthan district headquarter we can go up to Bhingri of northern Pyuthan by bus. Then after, we should climb Swargadwari hill on foot for about 4 to 5 hour. It is too tough for children and old people. But now a day, we can go up to Swargadwari by bus from Pyuthan, Dang and Rolpa also.

Swargadwari Ashram is situated on Swargadwari hill in the district of Pyuthan. Other hills in the surrounding, forest and green trees make this place extremely charming. The climate is very pleasant. Now, there is a hermitage founded by Swargadwari Mahaprabhu with an incessantly burning flame. Religious performances always take place there. Especially, the holy place is crowded on the occasion of Baishak Purnima to celebrate pooja,and in Kartik, large number of people come from different parts of the country. From India and other countries, also pilgrims come to visit the place and worship there. In spite of these special occasions, people reach there for worshipping throughout the year. The most important thing we can observe there is the burning fire .Swargadwari Mahaprabhu produced a sacred fire by using aghitatra Mantra .This fire is still burning .people are worshiping this fire as the powerful creation of the God .This fire also made Swargadwati a pleasant and attractive place for visit.

Government should consider for the development of this religious place . It is few difficult to reach the place by walking but now a days there is unmetalled road. People find it difficult to visit the holy place though they are eager for it. The government should think about cable car as the alternate of road.. Swargadwari is like a tourist area.

Many of the tourist and foreigners come to visit and worship here .people are unknown about this religious place due to the lack of communication. So we should emphasize on the publicity. We should give information through the Medias , oral and written advertisement.
