Education System in Nepal

Education in Nepal from the primary school to the university level has been modeled by the very inception on the Indian system, which is in turn the legacy of the old British Raj. Hence, until the recent past, Nepal followed the traditional three-tier sixteen-year education system, allocating ten years to school education, four years to college level studies - two years each for intermediate and bachelor program, and two to the Masters program at the university.

During the 1950s and in the subsequent decades, Nepali students started facing comparative disadvantage in their academic and professional career advancement not to mention in the regional or international fields even in their home country. Therefore, in order to make the nepali education system more competitive and compatible, policy and structural changes were made and gradually implemented, although for the lack of funds and resources only at a snail's speed during the last three five year plan periods. As a result, the present education system although still in the transition phase, stands as follows:

(i) Pre-School Education
The pre-school learning, be it kindergarten, Montessori or any other form of pre-school education, does not yet form an integral part of the formal school education system. Nevertheless, the need for such facility is being increasingly felt by the society. And, a number of pre-school establishments have come into existence in response to the demand particularly among the affluent, the educated and the working parents in the urban areas. These facilities range from simple day-care centers operated by semi skilled tutors and ayahs to sophisticated but informal playgroups run by trained teachers and nurses, and from formal pro-primary schools managed as junior wings of large school set-ups to advanced westernized kindergarten and Montessori pre-school establishments. Very different in their fees and infrastructure, they profess equally diverse professional objectives and educational goals, and practice divergent approaches to early education. His Majesty's Government of Nepal has recently formulated some guidelines for pre-primary curricula.

Swargadwari is located in the Pyuthan district in the western region of Nepal at 6960 ft. It is an important pilgrimage site for the Hindus. Swargadwari is also famous for the Vedic Yagyan set up by Swami Shree Hansananda Giri (Sworgadwari Mahaprabhu). He was born in Rumti of Rolpa district at 1916 B.S. He established this heavenly place in1952 and he named this place as “Swargadwari”. Legend has it that the king of all deities; Indra had also performed a Yagyan in Satya Yuga at this place. It is a must see destination for Hindu pilgrims. There is the Swargadwari temple. Many believe that the Swargadwari Guru Maharaj was an incarnation of God.

Swargadwari is a name which is uttered with great reverence.”Swargadwari” ‘is a word which means gateway to heaven’. It is a place where, in ancient time, sixteen sages performed a religious sacrifice for the attainment of heaven. Swargadwari is a place where the Pandaves along with Draupadi attempted for salvation. Swargadwari Mahaprabhu is the name of a devotee who made Swargadwari a place of pilgrimage in modern age. From Pyuthan district headquarter we can go up to Bhingri of northern Pyuthan by bus. Then after, we should climb Swargadwari hill on foot for about 4 to 5 hour. It is too tough for children and old people. But now a day, we can go up to Swargadwari by bus from Pyuthan, Dang and Rolpa also.

Swargadwari Ashram is situated on Swargadwari hill in the district of Pyuthan. Other hills in the surrounding, forest and green trees make this place extremely charming. The climate is very pleasant. Now, there is a hermitage founded by Swargadwari Mahaprabhu with an incessantly burning flame. Religious performances always take place there. Especially, the holy place is crowded on the occasion of Baishak Purnima to celebrate pooja,and in Kartik, large number of people come from different parts of the country. From India and other countries, also pilgrims come to visit the place and worship there. In spite of these special occasions, people reach there for worshipping throughout the year. The most important thing we can observe there is the burning fire .Swargadwari Mahaprabhu produced a sacred fire by using aghitatra Mantra .This fire is still burning .people are worshiping this fire as the powerful creation of the God .This fire also made Swargadwati a pleasant and attractive place for visit.

Government should consider for the development of this religious place . It is few difficult to reach the place by walking but now a days there is unmetalled road. People find it difficult to visit the holy place though they are eager for it. The government should think about cable car as the alternate of road.. Swargadwari is like a tourist area.

Many of the tourist and foreigners come to visit and worship here .people are unknown about this religious place due to the lack of communication. So we should emphasize on the publicity. We should give information through the Medias , oral and written advertisement.

Peace is everywhere spoken & heard word not only in Nepal but in the present day World. Along with the advancement of industrialized countries(in science & technology) there have been created greater problems by the invention of nuclear & atomic weapons & explosive bombs. The world has already faced two great world was and many national and international wars and conflict. But the people have learnt nothing from the history.Wek know and are being taught that past/history is what makes use pave our path for the prosperous future but why people overlook such a transparent fault? We have seen that violence causes destruction and never does good. Violenceis not a symbol of any good,any prosperity and any development. I wonder how this tiny country ,Nepal, ever known as ‘peaceful country’ in the world, took partin violence and is adding petrolium in blaze. It has been a decade the Nepales people are helplessy overwhelmend in the whirlpool of warfare.many’peace talks meetings’ were held and broken down with no reason, no achievement and no solution. As the years passed on, the condition is worsened,killing of innocent people, destruction of the foundations of nation, degraging national economy, increase in poverty,price hike,bombing,blasting,arresting etc.have been very common to the neaplese eyes.common people are not responsible for aii this;political leaders are fully responsiblewho turned their deaf ears and blind eyes towards this dreadfull condition.so what?Today!.....

I think the motherland will never excuse for such irresponsible leaders and concerned authorities who paid no attention and only engaged in corruption,loot,bribary…and earned for generations. There arises the question of nationality, patriotism and love of nation in them. The cabinet never willingly demanded and acted for peace talks. Instability of government aimingat lovely chairs,backbiting,competition of mass demonstration, brick throw,wallbreak,flaming out in streets,louderspeech,doubleness in politics and in real life. Politics not for the nation but for personal comfort and facility atc. Never bring ‘peace’ In the country. So now had come the time when we should not fold our hands and armat others and hope of corrupected of ethnicity,cast,race,education,politics,class,social status has to come to the fore with a faith and hope that peace must be reestablished,peace must bi maintained from us, among us and for us.The nation is our ,responsibility is our,right is our and might is our ;we all Nepalese.let’s join our hands,let’s marchead!let’s be united under the same umbrella of brotherhood;let’ssing on top of our voice’peace’Democracy!!Civil rights!!! CAUSES AND WAYS OUT OF POVERTY

In a simple language poverty is a condition of being sad, dissatisfaction and unable to live comfortable life. There are multiple factors of make people feel being poor. Poverty appears with a person and spreads with country and to the world. Among the causes of poverty, lack of education and having no any goods skill makes people poor. Again, if there are no chances for jobs, ways of development from the side of government there occurs poverty social political and economic factor are the pillar factor of poverty. Talking about and individual laziness uneducation dependency being spend thrift can be some cause of poverty. When natural resources are not used property but misused and the government is fully careless to people and their conditions , there is a poverty innamination people feel lack of job opportunities , problem of over population and carelessness of government in poverty, sometimes back -warded , thinking, superstitions, socio-culture, structure, etc factor can also be the cause of the poverty, again ,lack of dedication to work, narrow thinking, lack of unity in family and relatives also become cause of poverty.

When there are cause of poverty, there must be some solution to wipe out the stain of poverty. We had to climb out of poverty by any cost. Personally everyone should try to be self –dependent confident and dedicated person to the nation. Hard work, acquiring good education and thinking your small work as an important job are ether solution. Everyone should be punctual, hardworking of – to- date and struggle some to be adopted in new and challenging environment. There must be good political system noble leadership and good governance (ruling) to wipe poverty . Everyone must have good mission to achieve something and along with goal there must be dedication and optimistic vision. Government must established new ooportunities, young and skill mind should be filled with creative and constructive works . If any country makes its youths migrate other countries it is the tragedy of this nation.

To solve the problem of poverty new industries, workplaces and constructions should be established. Mentally, everyone should evaluate oneself and one’s work as the best one. There must be harmony, co-operation among family members, families, societies and the nations as well. ---Motilal Phullel
